About Us
More than four decades ago, Late Syed Nazar Hussain envisioned a healthcare institution that would bridge the critical gap in quality medical care for communities stretching from Andheri to Surat. At a time when advanced healthcare facilities were scarce, his dream was simple yet transformative: to ensure that individuals and families could access specialised, compassionate, and affordable medical care closer to home.
Since the 1980s, The Umrao Institute of Medical Science & Research has led with a clear purpose: to improve healthcare accessibility while creating pathways for medical education, community well-being, and long-term social impact. What began as an initiative to support socially and economically underserved patients has steadily evolved into a trusted multidisciplinary healthcare institution serving the region with dedication and integrity.
Since its operational expansion into a modern healthcare facility, the institute has continuously strengthened its infrastructure, clinical expertise, and medical standards to deliver comprehensive tertiary care. Today, Umrao stands as a modern multi-speciality hospital offering advanced healthcare across key specialities including Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Critical Care, and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU). Supported by experienced medical professionals, advanced technology, and patient-centric practices, the institute remains committed to delivering compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based healthcare.
